Te mporary/Contract/Permanent: Permanent

 

Salary: €45,000 - €55,000

 

 

Co mpany Info: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sonographer to join this large organisation and take on a role with a high degree of autonomy. The successful candidate will be a flexible and ambitious professional with excellent time management skills. This post will involve working from a number of different sites and working independently, therefore we are seeking a confident professional who wishes to develop management skills and grow within the company.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Set, maintain and promote a high standard of sonography and patient care.

     

  • Maintain a high degree of clinical expertise, ensuring awareness of current developments in medical imaging and that best practice is of the highest priority.

     

  • Act as a role model and clinical expert to facilitate the development of others through education and example.

     

  • Support the GM in the implementation and maintenance of an education and training programme for all team members.

     

  • Actively participate in the professional development of all staff.

     

  • Support the GM in ensuring that imaging practice standards are monitored and kept current, to maintain a high quality service.

     

  • Facilitates assessment of work practices, identifying areas of change required, implementation of change and evaluation of effectiveness via clinical audit.

     

  • Proactively support colleagues in implementing innovative practice, where appropriate.

     

  • Researche, summarize and analyze information; calculates statistics and compiles data to prepare relevant management information, as required. 

     

  • Assist in the implementation of new policies, procedures or practices impacted by decisions made by CEO, Directors, GM or the external health economy.

     

  • Serves as liaison to all, staff, patients, outside suppliers and the public concerning information or complaints.

     

  • Support the GM in the recruitment and selection of staff, as required.

     

  • May supervise, monitor or coordinate the activities of subordinates.

     

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment  service, maintenance, malfunction, downtime and performance as required and co-ordinates preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with clinical demand.

     

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree/diploma in Radiography.

     

  • Validation with the Department of Health and Children Ireland (or in process).

     

  • Postgraduate qualification in ultrasound.

     

  • Full driving license.
