Position: Cardiac Technician (Part time)

Location: West of Ireland

Te mporary/Contract/Permanent: Permanent

Salary: €40,000 - €50,000 (pro rata)

Co mpany Info: This is an exciting opportunity for a Cardiac Technician experienced within Echocardiography to join this well-respected organisation and provide the highest standards of service and care to their clients. This hospital is purpose built, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by motivated professionals. The ideal candidate will be a professional capable of working independently with confidence and expertise working within Echocardiography.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in all Invasive & Non-Invasive procedures; Cardiac echo, stress echo, TOE, stress test, holter monitoring, BP monitoring, ECG, Coronary angiography, stenting, assist with pacemaker implants and follow up, electrophysiology studies and arrhythmia ablation.

   

• Participate in setting standards and satisfying expectations in the quality of care.

   

• Participate in the work practices established within the Cardiology Department.

   

• Be aware of legislation and amendments governing or affecting Cardiac Technicians &/or Allied Health Professionals and issues of Health and Safety.

   

• Ensure that all reasonable precautions & safeguards are implemented for the provision of a safe work environment for all persons and clients required to be in the Cardiology Department.

   

• Have core knowledge of Radiation Safety.

   

• Ensure the safe, economical and correct use of all hospital equipment.

   

• Report faulty equipment to the Engineering Department.

   

• To ensure that appropriate stock levels of consumables are available and that stocks are replenished as per unit needs.

   

• Ensure stringent accuracy of Pacemaker Consignment Stock is maintained.

   

• To assume Senior Cardiac Catheterisation duties in the absence of the same.

   

Requirements:

• Certification in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement or an equivalent qualification.

   

• Ideally have 3 years experience in Echocardiography, Trans-oesophageal Echocardiography and Stress echocardiography.

   

• Flexibility and a willingness to respond to the demands of the organisation
