Salary:    €50,000 approx.

 

 

Co mpany Info:  In this high octane, well established Dublin hospital a superb position has become available for a Sonographer to join the team in this dynamic Dublin hospital.  The successful candidate must be flexible and highly motivated to work in this fast paced environment.  This department caters for women at all stages of pregnancy and post natal care as well as offering a complete gynaecology service.

Responsibilities: 

 

 

·         Undertake responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the specialist area service of ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and effective utilisation of all resources allocated.

 

·         Be accountable for the quality of the service provided, including customer service and technical aspects. 

 

·         Carrying out clinical examinations including transabdominal, transvaginal and Doppler techniques.

 

·         Advise on equipment selection, purchase, replacement and upgrading.

 

·         Contribute to the preparation of plans for the service – monitor and report on their implementation.  Implement and maintain accurate information systems for clinical data in accordance with hospital standards. 

 

·         Maintain accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, malfunction, downtime and performance as required and co-ordinate preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with clinical demand.

 

·         Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical, technical and radiographic developments in relation to your specialist area and promote awareness of new developments.  Ensure best practices are implemented and maintained.  Liaise with Consultant and midwives on an ongoing basis to ensure smooth running of department. 

 

·         Ensure staff and visitors observe good imaging practices while maintaining safety standards in the area. 

 

·         Contribute to financial planning and ensure that appropriate budgetary control procedures are implemented. 

 

·         Manage use of consumables efficiently. 

 

·         Participate as required in human resource planning, recruitment and selection of staff.

 

·         Support the implementation of initiatives aimed at on-going service development and improvement. 

 

·         Investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with hospital policy in relation to complaints, accidents and incidents.

 

·         Educate all staff in the area of hospital policies and relevant legislation on radiation safety and ensure they are understood.

 

·         Educate all staff on hospital policies on infection control, health and safety etc. and ensure they are understood.

 

·         Promote and maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.  Assist in the development and implementation of risk management and health and safety strategies in association with appropriate personnel.

 

·         Ensure staff and visitors observe good imaging practices while maintaining safety standards in the area.

 

·         Contribute to financial planning and ensure that appropriate budgetary control procedures are implemented.

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Primary Qualification in Radiography

     

  • Post Graduate Qualification in Ultrasound

     

  • Ideally 3 year’s practical experience in Obstetrics / Gynaecology Ultrasound experience.
